Brief history:
*Received a BBA degree from Kaunas Technology University in 1997.
Started interpreting in her second year of University studies in 1995.
At the same time, got actively involved in the development of the English Resource Centre of the University.
*After graduating spent 18 months in Edinburgh, Scotland with IFES International as a volunteer.
*Upon her return to Lithuania in 1999, was offered a job in an EU PHARE project as an interpreter/translator and the senior project assistant. The Project was established to support the Ministry of Health of Lithuania in the continued reform process and primary health care development.
*After the Project, worked at a PR agency as an events manager and interpreter/translator for three years, until she was offered an opportunity to work as an assistant in an EU Twinning Project for the establishment of a call centre in the local tax authority.
*Since August 2006, freelanced in Lithuania and Europe, interpreting for local and EU institutions, businesses, large, high-profile conferences as well as seminars, meetings and training events; and translated numerous documents, articles and publications.
*The most memorable interpretation assignment: the visit of Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands to Lithuania, during which Jūratė acted as Her Majesty’s personal interpreter.
